Wheel Throwing Classes

Passing on knowledge is one of the most rewarding things we can do. Helping you master a new skill would be my pleasure,

so please sign up for a session to learn the ancient art of creative wheel thrown pottery.

One to one classes have resumed but fully booked until October.

1 to 1 wheel throwing half day class £80

Thursday 10-1pm Thursday 2-5pm

Friday 10-1pm Friday 2-5pm or

Saturday 10-1pm

Learning a new skill is always so rewarding with a great sense of achievement. For the half day class you will be able to learn the basics from weighing up your clay, wedging,  centering and pulling up the walls of your pots and using tools to create some beautiful bowls or cups. I will demonstrate the process to you and the rest of the time you will be on the wheel creating your masterpieces with lots of fun, help and guidance along the way. We'll have a break for tea/coffee and homemade cake half way through- which is always a good time for a recap to continue creating for the last hour or so. Your favourite pots (up to 4) will then be dried, bisque fired and then glazed with a colour of your choosing and fired again for you. Collection is normally 3 weeks later, an email will be sent to you when they are ready. If you wish to share your experience with a friend, you are very welcome, I have 2 wheels so you can throw together- just make sure you buy the session for 2 people for £160

1 to 1 wheel throwing full day class £150

Thursday 10-5pm or

Friday 10-5pm

For the whole day class you will be able to learn the basics from weighing up your clay, wedging, centering and pulling up the walls of your pots and using tools to create some beautiful bowls or cups. I will demonstrate the process to you and the rest of the time you will be on the wheel creating your masterpieces with lots of fun, help and guidance along the way. With the whole day session if the weather is kind to us, the early pots might be dry enough to add more decoration or handles, and learn a few more techniques to create some lovely artwork. We'll have breaks for tea/coffee and homemade cake and stop for lunch half way through- which is always a good time for a recap to continue creating for the afternoon. Please bring a packed lunch. You will then choose your favourite pots to keep (up to 7) which will then be dried, bisque fired and then glazed with a colour of your choosing and fired again for you. Collection is normally 3 weeks later, an email will be sent to you when they are ready. If you wish to share your session with a friend, you are very welcome, I have 2 wheels so you can throw together- just make sure you buy the session for 2 people for £300

Wheel Throwing and Hand Building 5 Week Courses

The 5 week course is designed specifically to give you a greater insight into the fascinating world of pottery.

In this course you will learn all about the craft, create on the wheel and hand build some beautiful pots, bowls and plates.

There will be a maximum group of 6 so you get lots of 1 to 1 time with me throughout the course.

Each week you will get to have time on the wheel creating a variety of bowls or hand build impressed pots and a plate or tray. We will all take turns using the wheels.
