5 week Daytime Wheel Throwing Course is designed specifically to give you an insight into the fascinating world of pottery. Thursdays 10-12.30pm In this course you will learn all about preparing your clay, throwing on the wheel to make some beautiful pots, bowls or dishes. Turning your pots on week 4 and glazing them in the last week. Courses are small groups of 5 so you get lots of tuition throughout the course. Each week I will demo a shape and you will get to practice this. Weeks 1 - 3 will be learning to cone up, centre the clay, throw a pot and improving your skills. Week 4 will be learning to turn your pots and altering the shape. There will be a weeks break so the pots can dry and have their first bisque firing. Week 5 you will learn to glaze your pots. The course is £250 which includes all materials, glazing and firings.​ ​​We'll be using buff stoneware clay. Copious amounts of tea and coffee will be supplied in a relaxing fun atmosphere. Course starts Thurs 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th August (includes 20minute labelling of pots and clean up at the end) after a weeks break the glazing session is Thurs 11th September 10-12.30pm
