5 week Evening Wheel Throwing Course is designed specifically to give you an insight into the fascinating world of pottery. In this course you will learn all about preparing your clay, throwing on the wheel to make some beautiful pots, bowls or dishes. Turning your pots on week 4 and glazing them in the last week. Courses are small groups of 5 so you get lots of tuition throughout the course. Each week I will demo a shape and you will get to practice this. Weeks 1 - 3 will be learning to cone up, centre the clay, throw a pot and improving your skills. Week 4 will be learning to turn your pots and add handles etc if you wish. There will be a weeks break so the pots can dry and have their first bisque firing. Week 5 you will glaze your pots. The course is £250 which includes all materials, glazing and firings.​ ​​We'll be using buff stoneware clay. Copious amounts of tea and coffee will be supplied in a relaxing fun atmosphere. Course starts Wed 8th January - 29th January 2025. 6-8.30pm (includes 20minute labelling of pots and clean up at the end) after a weeks break the glazing evening is Wed 12th February 6-8.30pm
